Doctrinal Beliefs and Statement of Faith

The Bible:

We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God, inerrant, complete revelation of God’s will to man.  We believe God has preserved His Word without error to English speaking people in the King James Version of the Bible.  II Timothy 3:16

God:

We believe in one God, omnipotent, omniscient, manifesting Himself in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  I Corinthians 8:6

Jesus Christ:

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin and is both God and man.  John 1:1, 2 & 14; John 3:16

Holy Spirit:

We believe that everyone that receives the Lord Jesus by faith is born again of the Holy Spirit and becomes children of God.  The Holy Spirit convinces of sin and draws men to Christ.  He is our helper and comforter.  John 3:5

Man:

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, that he sinned and incurred both physical and spiritual death (separation from God).  Because of the first Adam’s sin, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners.  Romans 5:12

Salvation:

We believe that Jesus died for our sins according to the scriptures and that everyone that believes on Him and repents of their sins, are justified through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross. We are saved by grace, without any merit or works of our own.  Romans 3:21-28

Resurrection:

We believe in the physical resurrection of the crucified body of Christ Jesus, His ascension into heaven, His presence there as our High Priest and Advocate.  We also believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved into heaven and the resurrection of the lost into everlasting punishment in Hell fire.  I Corinthians 15; Revelation 20

Return of Christ:

We believe that Jesus will bodily and visibly return before the tribulation to this earth to call up the Church, the dead in Christ, and those who are alive to be changed and forever they will be with the Lord.  We believe in the premillennial return of our Lord with His saints.  I Thessalonians 4:13-18

The Church:

We believe the Church is the body of Christ made up of born again believers.  We believe Christ is the Head of the local church, consisting of born again, baptized believers.  The local church has the Biblical right to self-govern, not answering to any organization or to anyone but God.  The ordinances Baptism by immersion of born again believers, and the Lord’s Supper are both under authority of the local church.  I Corinthians 12:12, 13; Colossians 1:18; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 11:26

Satan:

We believe the reality and person of Satan, the enemy of God.  He was a created being of beauty and light, but fell from his position because of pride along with a third of the angels.  He is the evil and wicked one that God has already defeated.  He will be judged and cast into the lake of fire.  Revelation 20:10

Priesthood:

We believe in the priesthood of all believers.  Christ provides access to God for all believers without any need for a human intercessor. I Timothy 2:5

Eternal Security:

We believe that all who have truly been born again by the Spirit of God through faith in Christ are eternally secure.  John 10:28, 29
